THE ROLE OF FAMILY ENVIRONMENT IN THE MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN: MODERN PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVES
Abstract
Moral education plays a crucial role in shaping the character, values, and social responsibility of children. The family is considered the primary environment where moral norms, ethical behavior, and social values are formed. In modern educational theory, the integration of pedagogical approaches within the family context has gained increasing attention due to the complex moral challenges faced by children in contemporary society. This article explores modern pedagogical approaches to developing children’s moral education within the family environment. The study analyzes theoretical perspectives on moral development, including cognitive, social, and cultural frameworks, and examines practical pedagogical strategies that parents can apply in everyday family life. Methods such as modeling, dialogic communication, reflective learning, value-based discussions, and experiential activities are highlighted as effective tools for fostering moral awareness in children. The research also discusses the influence of family structure, parental involvement, and digital environments on moral development. The findings demonstrate that when families consciously adopt pedagogically grounded approaches to moral education, children develop stronger ethical reasoning, empathy, responsibility, and social competence. The article concludes that collaboration between family and educational institutions is essential for creating a consistent moral learning environment that supports the holistic development of children.
