PRINCIPLES OF BOOK SELECTION IN FOSTERING READING CULTURE AMONG PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Abstract
This article highlights important aspects of fostering a reading culture among primary school students. It discusses the pedagogical, psychological, and aesthetic principles that should be considered when selecting literature aimed at young readers. The book selection process should serve to develop the student’s age-appropriate understanding, interests, thinking level, moral education, and aesthetic taste. It also emphasizes that cooperation between parents, teachers, and librarians can enhance the effectiveness of this process.
