THE IMPORTANCE OF IODINE CONSUMPTION FOR YOUTH

Abstract

The article emphasizes the importance of the trace element iodine for the health and development of young people. It scientifically analyzes the effect of iodine on thyroid function, intellectual abilities, growth and the immune system. The negative impact of iodine deficiency on the young body is considered, in particular, on the example of such conditions as mental retardation, growth retardation, goiter. It also emphasizes the role of iodized salt, pharmaceuticals and iodine-rich foods in the prevention of iodine deficiency. The aim of the article is to prevent iodine deficiency among young people and promote regular consumption of this trace element to form a healthy generation.
