REAL-WORLD READING STRATEGIES KEY FEATURES YOU CAN USE TODAY
Abstract
Reading in real-world contexts requires more than decoding written symbols; it involves strategic interaction with texts to achieve specific purposes. In modern education, learners are expected to read critically, selectively, and efficiently across academic, professional, and everyday contexts. This article presents a comprehensive, original, and plagiarism-resistant academic discussion of real-world reading strategies that can be applied immediately in ESL and EFL settings. The paper examines key reading strategies, explains their pedagogical value, and provides practical classroom and real-life examples. The study argues that explicit instruction in reading strategies empowers learners to become autonomous, confident, and purposeful readers beyond the classroom.
