STRATEGIES, METHODS AND ACTIVITIES FOR ENHANCING STUDENTS' ORAL COMPETENCY
Abstract
Speaking is the process of creating and exchanging meaning in a range of circumstances using both verbal and nonverbal signals. Speaking is a key component in teaching and learning a second language. Despite its significance, teaching speaking has long been devalued by English language instructors, who have instead focused on having students memorize dialogues or repeat drills. But in the modern world, speaking instruction must aim to help pupils communicate more effectively
