LEGAL STATUS OF DOMAIN NAMES AND PROSPECTS FOR THEIR LEGAL PROTECTION AS OBJECTS OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW
Abstract
Domain names have become integral elements of modern commerce, serving as unique identifiers for online entities. However, despite their importance, the legal status and protection of domain names under intellectual property law remain ambiguous and vary across jurisdictions. This article explores the evolving legal landscape surrounding domain names, examines their classification as intellectual property, and discusses the prospects for enhancing their legal protection.
